Feeling loved and relaxed this Mother’s Day…

Well 2021 arrived and hit me running… I am so grateful to all my customers who have kept me so busy in the first quarter of the year and throughout the lockdowns.  What a bizarre time its been so far… from being made redundant to setting up two businesses and co-founding the local Community Hub during lockdown, has certainly kept me on my toes (feet).

My first Valentines was so busy, so I decided as a Mum, to actually have Mother’s Day off, spend some quality and much needed time with my family… and rest my weary legs!  Who would have thought making cakes and standing for hours on end creating bespoke cakes – would take its toll on my knees!!

Mothers Day was still spent in the kitchen, but this time making brownies and preparing afternoon teas for the family – delivering locally to my Mum, who was delighted and then the afternoon was spent with feet up watching a movie.  For the first time, my son actually chose with no help or hints a beautiful and very apt gift – an engraved glass cake stand, so thoughtful… we forget they can be, especially during the tweenager years lol…

So I am writing this blog, with my feet up, and having a few days rest, albeit doing some Admin.  Reflecting on the whirlwind that has been 2020/2021 and excited about the coming months ahead and the bespoke cake orders and designs… so refuelling my creative juices.

If you are planning on having a post lockdown party to celebrate all those milestone birthdays missed, then please do get in touch with proposed dates, if you would like a bespoke cake to mark the occasion.  I still have some dates available in May, June, July & August – although availability is limited.

So for now…. continue to stay safe, always be kind and thanks for sharing my caking journey with me….. Keep Smiling
